labor of love…and…caught up in circles

Two of my pieces have been accepted in the Wichita Center for the Arts‘ National Fiber Directions Exposition 2011.  The show opens March 25th and runs through May 8th.

Update:  Labor of Love received an Honorable Mention at the Wichita show.  You can see the entire show at this photo gallery.

Labor of Love

Labor of Love is about bringing into consciousness, naming, refuting, and ultimately releasing the underlying messages of my childhood experience through the meditative process of embroidery.    My hope is that the viewer will be inspired to name, refute, and release their own harmful and unfounded beliefs.

Caught up in Circles

Caught up in Circles was created shortly after I was told the story of the circumstances surrounding my birth. It is an attempt to identify and make sense of the feeling-states I experienced in the following months and an attempt to re-frame my life experience to include this new understanding.

Saw you in the PW ENEWS and checked out your website. Your work is exquisite, sensitive, poignant and delicately feminine. I love it and hope to see more. I will see the Tohono Chul show before it comes down.

Love to meet you in person at a PW meeting.

    You brightened my day!
